The brochure is in German. German language entries were not eligible for an award. Also, it is a paper and not an architectural project that fits our award categories. The jury decided to give it a special mention anyway. Why? See below.
This handbook for planners is a handbook for gender-equitable urban planning developed by students and based on the guidelines of the BMWSB (Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research). The handbook gives female planners concrete recommendations in designing cities that are more sustainable, less biased, more inclusive and caring for all.
Jury statement
Pro: It offers comprehensive planning aids for urban planning and architecture with a special focus on inclusion.
Con: The gender issue does not address the concept of sustainability in the sense of protecting nature and the environment, which is what Marita was aiming for.
